SYDNEY MARCH 2010. Australasian equestrians now have the chance to claim they have been outfitted by royalty following the release of a new Musto Country apparel range designed by Zara Phillips. Best known as the Queens grand daughter, but also a former World Eventing Champion, Phillips has designed a capsule womens wear collection for the label that aims to bridge the gap between off field elegance and innovative ergonomic sports styling. Titled the Zara Phillips collection, the 2010 range features technical long sleeved Tees, sweatshirts, training jackets, wadded gilets and fleeces with each item emblazoned with a ‘ 176” logo – the number used by Phillips when competing. Targeted at active women, the collection boasts a colour palette of black, sea mist, white, anthracite, red and titanium. The accomplished horse woman, who visited Melbourne last year in her role as Musto ambassador, said she was thrilled by how the collection had come together. “I wear Musto all the time while training and competing, its brilliant for keeping me warm and dry. I’m really excited about the collection, it combines technical fabrics with equestrian sports styling for jackets that really perform.” Musto Australasia national sales manager David Ross said Phillips, as an active sportswoman herself proved eager to be involved with every stage of the collaboration. To this end she adopted a hands on approach to everything from product design through to development – even assisting the Musto team undertake rigorous testing of each garment to ensure each item met with strict specifications.

MUSTO DIGS DEEP FOR COUNTRY: Celebrated country brand Musto has proven itself a force to be reckoned with among the womens apparel sector following the release of its much anticipated autumn / winter collection. This has resulted in many items not only presenting a more flattering fit but also renewed appeal through the use of rosette style corsages and gusset detailing. Following the issuing of two Royal Warrants in recognition of its service to the UK Royal household, Musto Country has chosen to mark the season with the release of its first capsule collection with brand ambassador Zara Phillips.
